[ For speakers ]
What a speaker website
needs to do.
Your website is rarely the first place an event planner hears your name. They saw you speak, got a recommendation or found you through a bureau, and now they have to justify the choice to a committee. Your site hands them that case: what you talk about, how you come across on stage, and who has already booked you.
So I build it around the booking decision. A section for each signature talk with its audience and takeaways, your reel and a few longer clips, past events and organizer quotes, a media kit to download, then an inquiry form that asks for the date, the place, the audience and the budget range.
Keynotes, workshops, webinars or all three: the site follows the way you get booked. Books, a program or online events get their own pages, and you manage them yourself. Andréanne Martin adds her talks and webinars without help, and once an event date has passed, its card switches to “Expired” on its own.

[ Guide ]
How to build a speaker website
that event planners book from.
Event planners rarely discover a speaker through a website. They hear a name, get a recommendation or browse a speaker bureau, then open your site to decide whether to get in touch. This guide covers what a website for speakers needs to win that moment, with examples from my own clients.
What should a speaker website include?
A speaker website needs five things: your speaking topics, video of you on stage, proof of past events, a media kit and a booking inquiry form. If a planner finds all five in under a minute, the site is doing its job.
- Topics: your signature talks, each with a title and a one-line promise.
- Video: a short reel near the top, longer clips further down.
- Past events: organizations, conferences and logos, plus a few words from organizers.
- Media kit: bios, headshots and talk descriptions, ready to download.
- Booking inquiry: a button in the menu, never more than one click away.
How should you present your speaking topics?
Present each signature talk like a product: a clear title, who it’s for, what the audience walks away with and the formats you offer. A planner is matching your talk to the theme of their event, so make that match obvious.
Three topics are usually enough on the homepage. Each one can then have its own section or page with three takeaways, the format (keynote, half-day workshop, virtual session) and a clip of that talk if you have one. Topic pages also help you show up when someone searches for a speaker on a specific subject.
Do you need a speaker reel?
Yes. Planners want to see how you hold a room before they put you in front of theirs, and a reel shows it in two minutes.
Keep it to two or three minutes and open on you speaking, not on a title card. Below it, add one or two longer clips so a planner can judge a full segment. Host the videos on YouTube or Vimeo and embed them, so your pages stay light. It’s no accident that the testimonial Nathalie Rodrigue, a speaker and motivation expert, left me is a video: a speaker is most convincing when you can see and hear them.
Is a website for motivational speakers different?
A website for motivational speakers uses the same structure, but the proof shifts from credentials to reactions. Organizers are buying energy, so video, audience photos and organizer quotes about the room carry more weight than a list of degrees. Your personal story also deserves its own page: for many motivational speakers, the story is the talk.
What makes a booking inquiry form work?
A booking form works when it asks for exactly what you need to say yes or no, and nothing more. These are the fields I recommend:
- Name, organization and email.
- Event date and city, or “virtual”.
- Audience size, and who will be in the room.
- The talk or topic they have in mind.
- A budget range, as a short list of options.
Label the button with what it does, such as “Check availability”, and keep it in the menu on every page. On Andréanne Martin’s website, the Talks page is built around a single action: one click to request a talk.
What goes in a speaker media kit?
A speaker media kit holds everything an organizer needs to promote your session without emailing you first. Give it its own page or a PDF, with no form in front of it:
- A short bio of about 50 words and a longer one of about 150.
- Two or three high-resolution headshots, in portrait and landscape.
- Talk titles and descriptions ready to paste into a program.
- An introduction the host can read before you walk on stage.
- Your technical needs: microphone, screen, clicker, room setup.
What do the best speaker websites have in common?
The best speaker websites treat speaking as one part of a wider body of work and make every part easy to reach. Two of my clients show how.
Andréanne Martin: talks, webinars and a program in one place
Andréanne Martin is a microbiome specialist, speaker and science communicator. Her website brings together her talks, webinars, products, online program and blog, and she manages it herself through the Framer CMS: event cards switch to “Expired” on their own once the date has passed. Every webinar sign-up becomes a contact in Kajabi, with its reminders, and a single webinar drew more than 400 sign-ups. Read the case study.
Option Médiation: authority first
Hélène de Kovachich is a business mediator and former president of the Tribunal administratif du Québec. Her bilingual website establishes that authority on the first screen, then gives her three books and her talks their own pages. For an expert speaker, the credibility you built off stage is the strongest booking argument. Read the case study.
What is the best website for speakers?
For most speakers, the best website is a custom one on Framer: a design that matches your stage presence, fast pages even with embedded video, and a CMS to add events and articles yourself. Showit and Squarespace are reasonable if you want to build it alone, and I compare them in Framer vs Showit and Framer vs Squarespace. If you also sell an online program, keep your course platform for it and connect it to the site, as I explain for course creators. What it costs to have yours built is on my pricing page.

[ FAQ ]
Questions
speakers ask.
Another question? Salah answers you personally, within 24 hours.
How much does a speaker website cost?
A single page with your talks, your reel and a booking form starts at $1,000 USD, delivered in 7 days. A complete speaker website with topic pages, events, a media kit and a blog starts at $1,500 USD. The fixed price comes in writing after our call.
I don’t have a professional reel yet. Can I still launch?
Yes. Start with your best two or three clips, even filmed from the audience, plus a few organizer quotes. The page is designed with a place for the reel, and swapping in the new video later takes you a minute in the editor.
Can planners download my media kit from the site?
Yes. Your media kit lives on the website as a page or a PDF, with your bios, headshots and talk descriptions. I recommend no form in front of it: an organizer shouldn’t have to hand over an email address to promote you.
Where do booking inquiries go?
To your inbox, or to your CRM or booking tool if you use one. The form asks for the date, the location, the audience and the budget range, so you can reply quickly and spend your time on the serious requests.
Can I list upcoming and past events myself?
Yes. Each event is an entry in the Framer CMS: you add the date, the place and a link, and the card can switch to past on its own once the date is over, as it does on Andréanne Martin’s website.
Read the case studyI speak in two languages. Can my website be bilingual?
Yes. Each page can exist in both languages, with a switch in the menu, so organizers in either market read you in their own language. Option Médiation’s website is fully bilingual, French and English. On Framer, each extra language is a paid add-on to the plan.
Should my speaking fee appear on the website?
That’s your call. Some speakers show a starting fee to filter requests, others discuss it once the inquiry comes in. Either way, the form can ask for a budget range, so you know where a request stands before you reply.
Can I sell my books or a program on the same site?
Yes. Books can link to your publisher or a retailer, and a program can connect to Kajabi or another course platform. Hélène de Kovachich’s three books have their own page on her website, right next to her talks.
