Article cover: Framer vs Showit for coaches and service businesses: an honest comparison

Showit has a loyal following among photographers, coaches and creative small businesses, and it’s easy to see why: you drag elements anywhere on the page and design the mobile version separately, so the site looks exactly the way you pictured it. Framer offers the same kind of freedom, with a different way of working.

I’m a certified Framer Expert, so I’m not neutral. I’ll still tell you clearly when Showit is the better choice.

In short: Showit and Framer both give you real design freedom, far beyond a template. The big difference is the blog: on Showit, it runs on WordPress, so you work in two systems, while Framer keeps your pages and your blog in one place and costs less. Choose Showit if you love its templates and its way of designing; choose Framer for one simple system and fast pages.

Framer vs Showit pricing in 2026

Framer is cheaper, especially if you want a blog: $10 a month on Framer Basic against $27 a month for Showit with a blog, both billed yearly, as of November 2026.

  • Showit (see the Showit pricing page): Showit alone costs $22 a month billed yearly ($27 monthly), with no blog. With a Basic Starter Blog, it’s $27 a month billed yearly ($34 monthly), and with the Advanced Blog, $39 a month billed yearly ($49 monthly).
  • Framer (see the Framer pricing page): a free plan on a Framer domain, then Basic at $10 a month (30 pages, 2 CMS collections, 1,000 CMS items) and Pro at $30 a month (150 pages, 10 CMS collections, 2,500 CMS items), billed yearly. The blog is included in the CMS. A second language is a paid add-on, at $20 per locale.

As with any platform, the subscription is the smaller part of the cost. The build is the bigger one, whether you do it yourself or hire a designer. With me, a complete Framer website starts at $1,500 USD; the details are on my pricing page.

The blog: one system or two?

This is the real difference between the two. On Showit, your pages are designed in Showit, but your blog runs on WordPress, hosted by Showit. You write and manage your posts in WordPress, and you design your pages in Showit. It works, and WordPress is a solid base for articles, but it means two editors to learn and two places to look when something needs to change.

On Framer, the blog lives in the same project as your pages. You write a post in the CMS, add a title, a description and an image, and publish. The Basic plan already holds 1,000 CMS items, which is plenty for years of articles.

Bringing things together under one roof is often what people are after when they switch. That’s what happened with Madame Labriski: a WordPress site plus a separate Shopify store became one Framer website, with more than 1,000 pieces of content moved without losing anything. Her team now manages it all themselves. The details are in the case study.

Design and the mobile version

Both tools give you real design freedom: neither one locks you into rigid sections. The difference is how they handle phones.

  • Showit has you design a separate mobile layout. You control every detail on the phone, but every change has to be made twice.
  • Framer starts from one layout and lets you adjust it for each screen size. You still control the mobile version, with less double work when you update a page.

Framer also handles smooth animations without slowing the site down, and its hosting, SSL, CDN and updates are included, with no plugins to maintain.

Which is better for SEO?

Both can rank well on Google. Showit lets you set titles and descriptions on your pages, and its WordPress blog is a proven base for articles. Framer handles titles, descriptions and the sitemap natively, plus redirects on the Pro plan, in one place, and serves fast pages from a global network.

On either tool, what makes the difference is the same: fast pages, a clear page for each service, well-written titles and content that answers your clients’ questions.

Showit vs Squarespace

If you’re also weighing Showit against Squarespace, the short answer is: Showit gives you more design freedom, Squarespace is cheaper and keeps everything in one system.

  • Pricing: Squarespace Basic costs $12 a month billed yearly, as of November 2026 (see the Squarespace pricing page), and includes a blog. Showit starts at $22 a month without a blog and $27 with one.
  • SEO: both can rank. Squarespace has its blog and its pages in the same system; Showit splits them between Showit and WordPress.
  • Design: Showit lets you place elements freely, with a separate mobile layout. Squarespace works with sections, which is quicker but more limited.
  • Client tools: Squarespace offers built-in scheduling through Acuity (extra) and courses through Digital Content.

I compare Squarespace with Framer in detail in Framer vs Squarespace.

  • You want full control over a separate mobile layout.
  • Your site works, you’re happy with it, and the blog in WordPress doesn’t bother you.

When Framer is the better choice

  • You want your pages and your blog in one system, with one editor to learn.
  • You want to pay less for the platform while keeping a blog.
  • You want a custom design, with animations and fast pages.

Moving from Showit? Your blog is a WordPress blog, so the move follows the same steps as a WordPress migration: I move your pages, blog posts and images and set a 301 redirect for every old URL. I explain it in moving from WordPress to Framer.

My advice, in one sentence

If Showit works for you and you enjoy using it, keep it; if you want one system for your pages and your blog, at a lower monthly cost, choose Framer. If you’re a coach, see what a coach’s website needs to do.
